Nueva Andalucía is the valley that rises behind Puerto Banús, known locally as the Golf Valley. It is a residential area of low-rise apartment complexes, townhouses and villas, laid out around several golf courses and climbing gently from the coast towards the hills on the border with Benahavís.
Who arrives here? Golfers, first of all, often in groups and with clubs; families renting a villa with a pool; and a large community of owners and residents who live here for much of the year. Puerto Banús is at the bottom of the valley, close enough for an evening out, far enough to sleep in peace.
The valley is easy to reach but hard to read. Streets curve around the fairways, developments carry names rather than numbers, and the name of a nearby golf course is not an address. That is where most wrong turns start.
Where we drop you in Nueva Andalucía
- Around the bullring and the lower valley
- The part closest to Puerto Banús, around the Nueva Andalucía bullring, with apartment complexes and shops. The busiest streets of the valley and the easiest to reach.
- Las Brisas and Los Naranjos
- The heart of the Golf Valley, with villas and complexes set along the fairways of the two courses. Internal roads wind and entrances look alike, so give the development name.
- Aloha
- The area around the Aloha course, with townhouses, apartment complexes and villas. Many developments here have a gate or barrier.
- The upper valley towards La Quinta
- Higher up, where the valley reaches the border with Benahavís, with larger villas and views down to the sea. Roads are steeper and less lit, so an exact location matters at night.
From Málaga Airport to Nueva Andalucía
After landing you come out through the arrivals hall on the ground floor of Terminal 3, where your driver waits with a name sign. Tap “I have landed” in your booking and he messages you as he sets off.
The road west has two options: the free A-7 along the coast, through the towns and across Marbella, and the AP-7 toll motorway inland. For Nueva Andalucía the toll road makes a real difference in summer, because it avoids the slow stretches through Marbella. Either way, the valley is entered from the coast road at Puerto Banús.
The driver chooses the road on the day according to traffic, and the price agreed when you booked is the same either way. In July and August the roundabouts around Puerto Banús are usually the slowest part of the whole trip.
Worth knowing before you travel
The course is not the address
Being “next to Los Naranjos” covers a lot of ground. Give the development name, the street and the villa or block number.
Golf bags are luggage
Clubs take up as much room as a large suitcase. Add them to the count when you book, and for a group, say how many bags there are.
Child seats are free on request
Ask for them when you book with the children's ages, and the driver brings the right ones at no extra cost.
Gates and barriers
Many developments have controlled access. Add the entrance you use and a mobile that will be on when you land, so the driver can call if the gate is closed.
Questions people ask
What happens if my flight is delayed?
When you land, tap “I have landed” in your booking and your driver will know you are heading for the exit. A delayed flight costs you nothing extra.
Where do I meet my driver?
In the arrivals hall, once you are through. Your driver holds a sign with your name, and we also email you their phone number.
Is the price per person or per car?
Per car. The price you see covers the whole vehicle, your luggage and any tolls.
Can I cancel?
Yes, from the link to your booking: free of charge up to 24 hours before pick-up. We refund the amount to the same card. With less time there is no refund. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice or don't show up, the deposit is not refunded and the rest of the fare is charged to the card you booked with.
Do you have child seats?
Yes. Add them when you book and we assign a driver who carries them, at no extra cost.
Is Nueva Andalucía the same trip as Puerto Banús?
Nearly, but not quite: the valley starts behind Puerto Banús and climbs a long way inland. If your address is in the Golf Valley, book Nueva Andalucía so the driver knows to head up rather than to the marina.
Can you also take us from the villa to the golf courses?
Yes. Golf transfers between your accommodation and the courses are booked separately from our golf page, for any day of your stay.
We are a golf group with lots of bags. Which vehicle do we need?
Choose the vehicle by passengers, then add the golf bags to the luggage. If everything will not fit, the booking form tells you straight away and asks you to choose a larger vehicle.
